We are a small, family owned and operated business who started growing grapes in spring 2016. We now have close to 3,000 vines,
each hand planted and tended to, they are happy and growing in Lenhartsville. The varieties include: Marquette, Fredonia, Catawba, Chambourcin, Niagara, Saperavi, Cabernet Franc, Arandell, and Itasca. We also get grapes from local, PA vineyards to help us make quality wines and are PA Preferred.
Vineyard manager and wine maker, Than, works as an IT director in the local school district during the day, and on evenings and weekends, enjoys his time tending to the plants in the vineyard and experimenting with the science of making wine. Terri, business manager in charge of the tasting room, advertising, and events, is an English teacher and librarian in the local school district and enjoys the planning and organization for the business aspects of the vineyard and winery.
Many ask, "Who is the Lucky Leprechaun?" The answer is Frank McCarthy, Terri's dad, who was born in Cork, Ireland in 1923 and came to the US in 1929. He lived through immigration, the Great Depression, and was in WWII. The stories and humor he shared with everyone during his 93 years of life are memories we all cherish.
On November 30, 2019, the tasting room & event center opened at 412 State Street in Hamburg. Come visit our tasting room from 4-7 pm on Fridays or 12-6 on Saturdays.
